Warm Greetings from all of us at THE HIDE
A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have helped to keep
us as busy as we have been. We appreciate your support.
It is that time of the year again when we need to update
you on all the exciting happenings at THE HIDE.
We have just celebrated our 10th year in Operation
- how time flies!!! Despite the negative "Doom
and Gloom" perception of Zimbabwe, we have a lot
to be positive about. The Camp is looking fantastic
especially now that Bruce has completed the alterations
to our upstairs viewing deck. Bruce and Desi will now
be spending more time in Harare focusing mainly on the
Marketing and the many special projects planned for
THE HIDE. Many of you know Bruce and Desi and will know
what a dynamic couple they are.
We warmly welcome Gary and Suzy who have joined The
Hide family and will be running the Camp. They are enthusiastic
and have settled in and are loving The Hide.
One of our many projects will be the building of an
"AIRSTRIP" on our Private
Concession, which will make the Charter Safari a pleasure.
Daffy our Head Professional Guide is always looking
for something new and exciting to share with our guests.
His enthusiasm and knowledge rubs off on our Guests
who soon become more involved in the adventure. We are
fortunate to have a wonderful team of guides and staff.
Despite negative rumors of poaching, we are enjoying
amazing game viewing. With only 50% of normal rains
last year, there was a serious lack of surface water
in the area. This meant that thousands of animals came
to our water hole for their daily drink making game
viewing incredible. Seeing 3 of the "Big Five"
drinking together became a common sight.
The private sector have generously donated funds towards
the pumping of several waterholes in the National Park
and this has helped release the pressure on our Concession,
we are very grateful for all the assistance, THANK YOU!
Fortunately a good rain shower fell on the 20th October
relieving the pressure on the present drought in Hwange.
Hope everyone has received our "SUMMER SPECIAL".
If not please contact us and we will gladly forward
them to you.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you
all a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2004. Thank
you for your great support during the 2003 Season. We
can only continue to strive for excellence.
