Newsletter October 2002
Dear All,
Firstly and most importantly we would like to thank
you most sincerely for the support you have given us.
Lorraine will be attending WTM (11-14 Nov) this year
and will be on the Classic Safari Camps of Africa stand.
If any of you are attending WTM please pop in to see
her.
For a change we have asked Bruce, our Camp Manager
to give us some interesting stories for our newsletter.
Here goes straight from the horse’s mouth!
“If you have ever had a Double barrel pointed
at your head you will know that feeling of the adrenalin
rush. However, at ‘The Hide Safari Camp’
you have the opportunity to experience this, without
fear of danger.
Getting right up close to the abundant wildlife from
the safety of any one of our three Hides, will give
you a totally different perspective. To have an elephant
pointing his ‘Double Barrel’ just 20 centimetres
away from your camera is exciting & yes the adrenalin
will flow freely. Not a close call, just a trunk call.
How many people get the opportunity to see down a living
wild elephant’s trunk or inside its mouth or the
underside of their bellies?
On one occasion we informed our guests (on low volume
2 way radio),that a pride of lion were approaching the
hide from their one side. I’m sure they thought
we were joking, until they saw the first of 6 lions
standing a couple of metres away from their narrow viewing
port. You not only see everything close up, you also
get to hear their every sound and smell them too.
A couple who has just spent their 9th visit with us
took over 1000 quality close up photos from the hides.
Wishing you all the best for 2003 from all of us at
The Hide
Best wishes from all at "THE HIDE"
